Adriana Lofaro is an associate in the Tax and Tax Litigation practice groups. She joined Cooley in 2011 and is resident in the New York office. Ms. Lofaro's practice focuses on tax litigation and controversy.
Prior to joining Cooley, Ms. Lofaro was an associate for more than two years at McCarter & English, LLP, in New Jersey. While at McCarter & English, Ms. Lofaro represented clients in federal and state tax controversies and advised clients on various types of federal and state tax matters. From 2007 to 2009, Ms. Lofaro served as an attorney-advisor to Judge Carolyn P. Chiechi of the United States Tax Court.
Ms. Lofaro earned her LLM in Taxation in 2009 from Georgetown University Law Center, where she graduated with distinction. She obtained her JD, cum laude, in 2007 from Seton Hall University School of Law. While a student, Ms. Lofaro externed for IRS Chief Counsel's Office. Ms. Lofaro earned her BA in 2004 in Psychology and Italian Studies, summa cum laude, from Seton Hall University.
Ms. Lofaro is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
