Brett Lavoie is an associate in the Real Estate Practice Group and a member of the Firm's Business Department. He joined the Firm in 2007 and is resident in the Reston office.
Mr. Lavoie is a transactional commercial real estate attorney with a focus on the acquisition, disposition and leasing of commercial office, retail and mixed-use properties. Mr. Lavoie has represented property owners in a variety of acquisitions, joint ventures and financing transactions. He also has substantial experience representing both landlords and tenants in the leasing of office, retail and industrial space. As a member of Cooley's Real Estate Leasing Group, Mr. Lavoie advises Cooley's emerging company clients in leasing transactions for all stages of their growth cycle.
Mr. Lavoie received a JD from George Mason University School of Law in 2007, where he was an associate editor of the George Mason Law Review. He received a BA in Government from Harvard University in 2000.
Mr. Lavoie serves on the Developing Leaders Committee of the Northern Virginia Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks. He is also a member of The Real Estate Group in Washington, DC.
Mr. Lavoie is a member of the Virginia State Bar.
