8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
You are invited to join Cooley's legal experts from our Employment & Labor and Compensation & Benefits groups for HR Network 2012, a seminar featuring practical solutions for human resources challenges in a dynamic employment environment.
We hope you can join us for our annual HR event. This year our format will include table seating for the morning sessions. At lunch we will feature a speaker who will provide a snapshot of current health care issues facing employers—including new federal requirements for employee health care benefits, and common HIPAA problems.
As always, we will provide a legal update of new laws, cases, and trends in the employment, compensation, and benefits areas. We will then analyze the latest issues arising with a wireless workforce, along with steps to avoid employer liability. A panel on employing a multi-national workforce will highlight best practices and legal requirements in the U.S. and abroad. We will also consider the latest forms of equity compensation and how they are being used to replace or supplement more traditional stock option awards. Another panel will identify common HR mistakes by managers and how to prevent them through policy development, implementation, and training. Additionally, we will discuss how best to fix common problems in employee handbooks. Another panel will describe best practices to avoid, prepare for, or respond to an audit of independent contractor status. Additionally, we will review HR challenges in managing a whistleblower who remains an employee.
