Real Estate Fund Formation

Our Real Estate Funds group focuses on servicing the needs of our clients investing in real estate assets across all classes.  Real estate funds which we advise operate and invest primarily in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America.  Our specialists assist emerging and established fund managers investing in retail, hospitality, office, industrial and other assets, including investments in performing assets, assets which require redevelopment, ground-up development projects, as well as distressed and other opportunistic ventures.  We also assist managers who originate, participate in and acquire mortgage and mezzanine loans and other real estate securities.

Our experienced team of real estate funds lawyers work with fund managers and sponsors to develop and implement efficient strategies for forming real estate funds.  We work with our clients to tailor real estate funds and pooled investment vehicles to the target investors.  We are also experienced in structuring and implementing the upper-tier relationship among principals of real estate funds and related management structures, as well as federal and state regulatory requirements applicable to their activities.

Our real estate funds lawyers include experienced real estate, corporate, tax and bankruptcy attorneys working as an integrated group, enabling us to seamlessly address all aspects of the formation of real estate funds.

Our extensive experience in the acquisition, financing, refinancing and disposition of real estate assets across numerous real estate asset classes ensures that we remain in front of ever changing market conditions.  We regularly assist our clients with complex acquisitions, financings and dispositions of real estate assets, working closely with our local advisors on transactions outside of the United States to address tax and structuring issues specific to these jurisdictions.
