Ian O'Donnell is a partner in the Venture Capital practice group and a member of Cooley's Business department. He joined the Firm in 2005 and is resident in the San Francisco office.
Mr. O'Donnell's practice is concentrated in the formation and representation of venture capital funds, including the representation of issuers and venture funds in public and private financing transactions.
In 2009 Mr. O'Donnell was selected as a Northern California Super Lawyer Rising Star by Law & Politics magazine.
Mr. O'Donnell obtained his law degree, cum laude, in 1999 from Georgetown University Law Center, where he received the CALI Award for Excellence in Business Planning. While at Georgetown, he was a member of The Tax Lawyer law journal. He received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Yale University in 1994. Mr. O'Donnell was formerly an associate in the Fund Services Group at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto and an associate at Greene Radovsky Maloney & Share LLP in San Francisco.
Mr. O'Donnell is a member of the California and New York state bars.
