Brent Siler is a partner in the Securities Regulation practice group and a member of the Cooley Business Department. He joined the Firm in 2008 and is resident in the Reston office. Prior to joining Cooley, Mr. Siler was a partner with WilmerHale where he practiced for 21 years.
Mr. Siler's practice focuses on corporate and securities matters for technology-oriented companies.
He assists clients in connection with:
- registered public offerings (representing both issuers and underwriters)
- public company securities compliance
- corporate governance
- mergers and acquisitions
- venture capital and private placement financings
- general corporate counseling
He has represented issuers and underwriters in more than 55 public offerings, including over 30 IPOs. He has been identified by IPO Vital Signs as the top ranking lawyer in the Mid-Atlantic for the number of IPOs handled since the inception of the database in 1998.

Mr. Siler received a JD from the Harvard Law School, cum laude and earned his BA, magna cum laude, from the University of Denver. He is admitted to practice in the state of Virginia and in the District of Columbia.
