Eric Jensen, Partner

Eric C. Jensen is a corporate partner based in Cooley's Palo Alto office and a member of the Firm's Management Committee.  

Mr. Jensen practices securities and corporate law, with an emphasis on the representation of emerging and public software, internet, systems and other technology companies. He also has extensive experience representing underwriters and venture capital funds. In the past three years Mr. Jensen has been involved in over 30 IPOs or other offerings of debt or equity, including IPOs for LinkedIn, Zynga, Zulily, FireEye, ServiceNow, MobileIron, Ruckus Wireless and Tremor Video.

Mr. Jensen has been repeatedly recognized as a leading national attorney in publications such as Best Lawyers, Chambers USA, Daily Journal, and Super Lawyers. Most recently, Mr. Jensen was named by the Daily Journal as a "Top Emerging Companies Lawyer" and named one of the Top 100 Lawyers in California in 2011, 2013 and 2014. Mr. Jensen was also recognized in the 2014-2015 editions of The Best Lawyers in America for Corporate Governance Law; Corporate Law; Securities/Capital Markets Law and Venture Capital Law. In 2013, Mr. Jensen was ranked in Chambers USA as a national leader in Investment Funds: Venture Capital, a leader in California in Capital Markets: Debt & Equity and a leader in California in Corporate/M&A: Venture Capital.

From 2000 to 2001, Mr. Jensen served as general counsel and member of the senior management team at Blue Martini Software.

Mr. Jensen received a JD in 1988 from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and was an editor for the UCLA Law Review. In 1987, Mr. Jensen served as an extern to the Hon. Arthur L. Alarcon of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. He received a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Political Science from Stanford University in 1984, where he graduated with distinction and honors in Economics.

Mr. Jensen is admitted to practice before the California and Colorado bars and is a member of the American Bar Association. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, a non-profit corporation.
