Eric C. Jensen is a business partner in the Cooley Palo Alto office. He has been with the Firm since 1988 and served on the Firm's Management Committee from 2005 - 2011 and as Chairman of the Business department from 2008 - 2012.
Mr. Jensen practices securities and general corporate law, with an emphasis on the representation of emerging and public software, semiconductor, internet, and other information technology companies. He also has extensive experience representing venture capital funds and underwriters. He has counseled clients in the areas of corporate formations, venture financings, public offerings of equity and debt, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture, licensing and related strategic transactions, employee incentive matters and SEC reporting and compliance.
Mr. Jensen has been included as one of The Best Lawyers in America from 2006 - 2012, named as one of the Top 100 Lawyers of 2011 by the Daily Journal, included in the 2011 AlwaysOn Power Players West list and as one of Northern California's "Super Lawyers" from 2007 - 2011. Mr. Jensen received a J.D. in 1988 from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and was an editor for the UCLA Law Review. In 1987, Mr. Jensen served as an extern to the Hon. Arthur L. Alarcon of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. He received a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Political Science from Stanford University in 1984, where he graduated with distinction and honors in economics.
Mr. Jensen is admitted to practice before the California and Colorado bars and is a member of the American Bar Association. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, a non-profit corporation.
