Join the Commonwealth Club's Reducing Nuclear Weapons: Stopping the War That No One Wants.This panel will showcase seasoned professionals to discuss what the United States and others can do at this crucial point in history to reduce weapons and decrease the chances of a devastating war. This is a rare opportunity to hear this issue addressed by former cabinet secretaries George Shultz and William Perry, former Governor of California Jerry Brown, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu, and former NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller, moderated by national security expert Dr. Gloria Duffy of the Commonwealth Club, with welcoming remarks by Cooley's Frederick Baron who formerly directed the national security office at the Department of Justice.
