Event summary

Robert McDowell, Cooley partner and former FCC Commissioner, will host a virtual fireside chat with Julius Genachowski, former Chairman of the FCC and managing director at the Carlyle Group, to discuss the outlook for communications and technology companies and investors following the election.

Mr. Genachowski served as Chairman of the FCC from 2009 to 2013 after co-leading the Technology, Innovation and Government Reform Group for President-Elect Barack Obama’s transition team. He was also chairperson of the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Policy Working Group for Senator Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. 

Mr. McDowell and Mr. Genachowski served on the FCC together from 2009 to 2013. Also, Mr. McDowell has worked formally and informally on presidential transitions on a bipartisan basis, including in his role as commissioner during the Obama transition in 2008 to 2009.
