Life Sciences & Healthcare Innovation Program – Previously Recorded
Productwise – Liability in Times of Change for the Life Sciences Industry – Part Two
Event summary
Our two-part webinar series will explore liability changes within the Life Sciences industry. Cooley’s international team will help identify the risks and challenges involved with these changes.
We will examine significant liability risks for life sciences companies in the next 5-10 years, including the changing liability landscape, and risks in the context of emerging technologies.
There are new mechanisms for cross-border collective actions on the horizon, an increasing trend towards consumer litigation and questions about whether or not the underlying product liability regimes are fit for purpose. The growth of digital health technologies and artificial intelligence raises novel risks (including data protection and cybersecurity risks), and key questions about the liability of services and software as a product remain unanswered. Wearables are blurring the line between consumer technology and medical devices, and consumer health data has the potential to play a significant role in future litigation. Against this backdrop, our cross-sector panel will take a look at what these changes mean for the life sciences industry, and what risks and opportunities they present.
