Session 9: AI Healthcare and Life Sciences

This session provided an overview of the role of AI in life sciences and the different ways that AI impacts the product development landscape for early- and mid-stage life sciences companies. Discussion topics addressed key considerations for life sciences companies in transactions involving AI products and platforms, along with how AI is changing the paradigm for dealmaking at all levels of transactional complexity, from simple commercial agreements to major collaboration and partnering transactions. The session included discussion of different transaction types, including foundational in-licenses of AI technologies and major collaborations, approaches to AI platform transactions, and how AI considerations force a reevaluation of the transactional landscape, including deal structures and financial terms.
