Event summary
Led by the nonprofit Northern District of California Federal Practice Program, the Fall 2024 Civil Law Symposium provides a forum for judges and civil and criminal legal practitioners to learn together and share ideas, with the goal of enhancing the administration of justice in the district. This half-day event will offer 3.25 hours of minimum continuing legal education (MCLE) credit to attendees and includes a practicum on effective practices for admitting expert testimony under Daubert, as well as sessions exploring the impact of administrative law changes and examining consequential civil cases before or recently decided by the US Supreme Court.

A Brave New World: The Shift of Power From Agencies to the Federal Courts
Cooley partner Kathleen Hartnett will be among a group of panelists examining Supreme Court rulings that have reduced the power of administrative agencies and shifted decision-making to the federal courts.
