Black History Is American History 

In celebration of Black History Month, we invited Brent Leggs, executive director of the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund, to speak to the firm about how Black history is American history. During the live presentation, Leggs discussed efforts to protect sites including Madam C.J. Walker’s Villa Lewaro, John and Alice Coltrane’s home and the Wilfandel Ladies Club. He also touched on preservation as acts of social justice and equity and our responsibility to cultivate spaces to engage with them and to ensure that everyone can draw inspiration and wisdom from African American historic places.
