Legal Aid Society of San Diego Names Cooley "Law Firm of the Year"
San Diego, Calif. – June 14, 2013 – Cooley LLP announced today that it was recently named "Law Firm of the Year" by the Legal Aid Society of San Diego (LASSD). The firm was recognized for its commitment to pro bono, and, in particular, its work on behalf of individuals who need legal assistance with Social Security benefits.
Tony Stiegler, San Diego-based litigation partner and co-chair of Cooley's firmwide pro bono committee, accepted the award on behalf of the firm. In addition to recognizing the firm, LASSD also recognized twelve Cooley attorneys with the organization's Outstanding Service Award. The attorneys honored are associates Paul Batcher, Jennifer Bogue, Jon Cieslak, Nic Echevestre, Katie Krajeck, Brian Lam, Brad Lebow, JP Oleksiuk, Lindsay Parker, Shannon Sorrells, Joe Woodring and Blake Zollar.
"Cooley's support throughout the years has been invaluable to the Legal Aid Society of San Diego," said Greg Knoll, Executive Director of the LASSD. "Not only are their attorneys practical and insightful, but the firm as a whole is so demonstrably committed to pro bono. Cooley is truly deserving of this year's ‘Law Firm of the Year' award."
