Cooley Rises Further in Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For List
Palo Alto – March 3, 2016 – Fortune magazine has named Cooley to its prestigious 100 Best Companies to Work For list for the third consecutive year. Cooley rose to #28 and is the #1 law firm on the list, which is the result of the most extensive and respected employee survey in corporate America.
"It has been a phenomenal year for Cooley," said Joe Conroy, Cooley's chief executive officer. "Our growth and successes are in many ways fueled by our culture of collegiality and excellence. It's great to be recognized by Fortune and to be among such an elite group of companies."
Fortune partners with the Great Place to Work Institute to select the 100 Best Companies to Work For list. Two-thirds of a company's score is based on the results of the Institute's Trust Index survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to attitudes about job satisfaction, camaraderie and management credibility. The remaining third of the scoring is based on the company's responses to the Institute's Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, internal communications, training, recognition programs and diversity efforts.
In addition to this list, last year Cooley earned places on Fortune's lists of the Best Companies for Women, Millennials and Camaraderie. The firm also earned the top spot among law firms on Fortune's 20 Great Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services.
Other national and regional publications have also consistently recognized Cooley as a great place to work, including Crain's New York Business, Washington Business Journal and Working Mother magazine. The Human Rights Campaign also recently awarded Cooley a perfect score on its 2016 Corporate Equality Index.
