Fortune Names Cooley a Best Workplace for Women

September 21, 2016

Palo Alto – September 21, 2016 – For the second consecutive year, Fortune named Cooley a Best Workplace for Women. Cooley is the highest-ranking law firm on the list.

“The real success is visible within Cooley,” said Shira Nadich Levin, partner and co-chair of the firm's Women's Initiative alongside partner Kay Chandler. “We truly appreciate the recognition of Cooley’s ongoing commitment to supporting and elevating women lawyers.”

The 100 Best Workplaces for Women list is a "best of the best" ranking, according to The Great Place to Work Institute, which provides the platform for the survey. The ranking is based on the same employee survey feedback that determines the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list.

Cooley is #28 on Fortune magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work For list, making it the highest ranking law firm. Fortune has also named Cooley to best workplace lists for Consulting & Professional Services, Giving Back, and Flexibility.

This year, Cooley was awarded Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum for the fifth time. To receive Gold Standard Certification, firms must demonstrate that “women represent a meaningful percentage of their equity partners, of their highest leadership positions, of their governance and compensation committees, and of their most highly compensated partners.” Also this year, Working Mother magazine named Cooley a Best Law Firm for Women for the fifth consecutive year.
