Investor Consortium Completes Acquisition of Apollo Education Group

Washington, DC – February 1, 2017 – Cooley served as US regulatory and UK counsel to Apollo Global Management and The Vistria Group on their $1.1 billion acquisition of Apollo Education Group, which received final regulatory approval on January 24, 2017, and closed on February 1. Apollo Education Group is now privately held.

Apollo Global Management is a global alternative investment manager headquartered in New York. The Vistria Group is a Chicago-based middle market private equity firm focused on the education, healthcare and financial services industries. Apollo Education Group, the parent company of the University of Phoenix, among other schools, is one of the world's largest private education providers with operations on six continents.
