Cooley + San Diego: 25 Years of Success
San Diego – September 14, 2017 – Twenty-five years ago, Cooley opened the doors to its San Diego office, becoming the first Silicon Valley law firm to operate in the market.
What started with seven founding lawyers in 1992 – four of whom are still with Cooley today – has evolved into an office with more than 200 lawyers and staff. Home to firm leaders for business litigation, capital markets, compensation & benefits, M&A, real estate finance and securities litigation, the office has become one of the dominant players in the San Diego market and a key driver of Cooley’s national and global growth.
“Our success really comes down to our people,” said Mike Attanasio, partner-in-charge of the San Diego office and global chair of Cooley’s litigation department. “We pride ourselves on investing in the highest-quality talent and delivering exceptional results for our clients. It’s a simple formula but it works. I could not be more proud of this office, our people and our place in this market.”
Concurrent with Cooley’s San Diego anniversary, The San Diego Business Journal has again named Cooley to its Best Places to Work list. The Journal recognizes companies and firms for rewarding hard-working employees, investing in employee training, offering wellness and fitness programs and providing opportunities for team building. Cooley's unique culture has been recognized on numerous top workplace lists, including Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For list, on which Cooley is the #1 law firm in the United States.
