Cooley – The #1 Law Firm on Fortune’s Best Companies List
Palo Alto – February 15, 2018 – Cooley continues to climb the rankings on Fortune magazine’s annual 100 Best Companies to Work For list. Cooley rose to #18 – its best ever ranking on the prestigious list – and remains the top-ranked law firm. The list is the result of the most extensive employee survey in corporate America.
“We are extremely heartened to be recognized year after year by Fortune, alongside an elite group of companies that includes many of our clients,” said Joe Conroy, Cooley’s chief executive officer. “The base of our success is rooted in a global commitment to our culture and our values.”
Fortune collaborates with Great Place to Work to select the 100 Best Companies to Work For list. The ranking is based on survey responses from more than 315,000 employees rating their workplace culture on 50+ elements. These include trust in managers, compensation, fairness, camaraderie and workplace traits linked to innovation. Winning a spot on the list indicates that companies have distinguished themselves by creating a great place to work for employees – measured and ranked through Great Place to Work’s anonymous Trust Index survey and Culture Audit questionnaire. Great Place to Work research shows that list winners typically beat industry peers when it comes to talent retention and demonstrating higher levels of productivity.
Cooley’s unique culture has been widely recognized by leading industry organizations and publications, including being named to Fortune’s lists of best workplaces for women, flexibility and parents, as well as Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers’ list of the best law firms for women. Cooley has also earned Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum for five consecutive years, as well as a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index.
