Working Mother Names Cooley a Seven-Time Best Law Firm for Women
Palo Alto – August 1, 2018 – For the seventh consecutive year, Working Mother magazine has named Cooley one of its 60 Best Law Firms for Women. Cooley catapulted fourteen spots this year to rank #11 on the notable list. The annual accolade recognizes law firms using best practices to retain and promote women lawyers.
“As Cooley grows, so too do our efforts to increase and improve the opportunities available for our women lawyers,” said Shira Nadich Levin, partner and co-chair of Cooley’s Women’s Initiative alongside partner Kay Chandler. “Our success as a firm is directly tied to our ability to foster our lawyers’ careers.”
Cooley’s Women’s Initiative is part of the firm’s core diversity principles to attract, retain and mentor a strong network of women lawyers. The initiative aims to provide women at Cooley with the tools necessary to achieve professional success and personal fulfillment, including counseling, professional development and networking opportunities.
“We’re grateful to Working Mother for recognizing us for the seventh consecutive year,” said Chandler. “It’s a reflection of our commitment toward the advancement of women lawyers across the legal profession.”
Cooley is often recognized for its unique and empowering culture. In addition to being a five-time Fortune Best Company to Work For, the firm has been recognized as a Fortune best workplace for giving back, women, diversity, millennials, flexibility and parents. People Magazine recently distinguished Cooley as the only law firm on its 50 Companies That Care list.
