Cooley Launches COVID-19 Resource Hub for Clients
New York – March 18, 2020 – Cooley has launched a coronavirus resource hub featuring guidance for clients on the legal, regulatory and commercial implications of the COVID-19 pandemic. The hub is run by a COVID-19 Cooley Task Force, a multi-disciplinary group of 70+ lawyers worldwide that is coordinating client guidance on pandemic-related issues.
Given the rapidly changing legal and financial landscape, the content is updated regularly with new insight to help businesses navigate unprecedented issues, touching on topics including contracts, commercial litigation, venture capital, public companies, employment, insurance, education and more.
“We are here to help our clients in these trying times,” said Joe Conroy, Cooley’s chairman and chief executive officer. “We take to heart our profound and enduring commitment to the health and well-being of all of our people, our clients and our communities around the world.”
In addition to advising clients on the legal and administrative developments associated with the pandemic, Cooley has taken wide ranging precautionary measures in support of reducing the spread of the virus. Domestic and international business travel has been restricted. Participation in external conferences and events has been suspended. Whenever possible, Cooley is replacing in-person meetings with telephone and video conferences.
Cooley has also triggered its longstanding business continuity plan designed to ensure continuity of capability and client service in the face of unforeseen circumstances such as COVID-19. The firm’s lawyers and professional staff, all of whom are fully prepared and equipped, are largely working remotely in the service of client needs and in a manner that maintains the confidentiality and integrity of all the firm’s data and that of its clients. Where promulgated, Cooley is also fully complying with public health orders, such as the recent “shelter in place” order in the San Francisco Bay Area, with the goal of doing everything in the firm’s power to aid in the worldwide containment and control of COVID-19.
