Cooley Takes State-of-the-Art Space in Chicago
Chicago – September 14, 2021 – Cooley has signed a lease that will move its Chicago office to a new, state-of-the-art space at 110 North Wacker. The firm is targeting a Q2 2022 move. The riverfront space – approximately 30,000 square feet on the 42nd floor – will support the firm’s future growth and provide greater opportunities to collaborate with clients.
“Our Chicago office has enjoyed incredible market attention since its launch in May,” said Joe Conroy, Cooley’s chairman and chief executive officer. “Our distinctive platform has already made a sizeable impact in the region. This move to the stunning space at 110 North Wacker speaks to our ongoing momentum and enduring commitment to our clients – and to this city and the Midwest.”
Developed by the Howard Hughes Corporation and Riverside Investment & Development and completed in October 2020, 110 North Wacker is the city’s tallest office building to be delivered in three decades, totaling 55 stories and more than 1.5 million square feet. A collaboration with the award-winning leasing, design and construction team of CBRE, Riverside, Goettsch Partners and Clark Construction, the tower’s distinctive form accentuates its verticality and extensive integration of open space throughout the building, beginning at ground level with an expansive 45-foot-wide riverwalk. Coming on the heels of recent Cooley office moves in San Francisco, London, Singapore and Denver, the Chicago move will showcase the latest iteration of Cooley’s transformative and flexible workplace architecture, which debuted in New York City’s Hudson Yards.
“Stunning views and dynamic design touches are just a small benefit of this latest step in our Chicago journey,” said Rick Ginsberg, partner in charge of Cooley’s Chicago office. “Through sophisticated technology and flexible, collaborative office design, this new space will maximize our potential to grow and build powerful connections with clients and strategic partners alike. This is the future of how a law firm should look and feel, and it reflects a design that is uniquely Cooley.”
Cooley launched in Chicago in May with a prestigious 10-partner team and has been growing rapidly ever since.
