Vesey Ventures Announces $78 Million Debut Fund

San Francisco – April 27, 2023 – Cooley advised Vesey Ventures, an early-stage venture firm focusing on financial services solutions, on the closing of its $78 million debut fund. Partners Elizabeth Reese and John Clendenin led the Cooley team. 

Proceeds from the debut fund will be used to invest in early-stage fintech, with a focus on enabling technology companies where opportunities for early partnerships with financial incumbents exist. Vesey Ventures has already invested in several companies – including Coast, Cyrus, Grain, Equi and Proper. Vesey Ventures issues a term and strategy sheet for each portfolio company, outlining how it will leverage its network of strategic investors and advisers to act as the company’s business development team. 

Founded by a trio of longtime fintech investors and operators, Vesey Ventures combines deep domain expertise in traditional financial services with a unique understanding of the fintech startup ecosystem to bridge the gap between companies in need of new technologies and those building them.
