Laekna Announces Largest 18A IPO Year to Date at HK$791 Million

Hong Kong – June 29, 2023 – Cooley advised China International Capital Corporation Hong Kong Securities Limited (CICC) and other underwriters on Laekna’s HK$791 million (US$101 million) initial public offering of 63,728,000 shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the largest 18A offering year to date. Partners Michael Yu and Yiming Liu led the Cooley team.

CICC served as the sole sponsor, overall coordinator and sole global coordinator for the global offering. Haitong International, ICBC International, Guotai Junan, ABCI Securities, Futu Securities and Valuable Capital acted as the international and Hong Kong underwriters.

Founded in 2016, Laekna is a science-driven, clinical-stage biotechnology company. It has developed its clinical and pre-clinical pipeline through a combination of internal discovery and asset in-licensing efforts. As a result of its dedicated work, Laekna has strategically developed a pipeline of 16 product candidates, with a focus on the treatment of cancers and liver fibrosis.
