The House Fund Closes $115 Million Fund III

October 25, 2023

Palo Alto – October 25, 2023 – Cooley advised The House Fund – a pre-seed and early-stage venture capital firm led by Jeremy Fiance that is dedicated to investing in entrepreneurs with ties to the University of California, Berkeley, including students, faculty, university employees and its half a million alumni – on its $115 million Fund III. Partner Shane Goudey led the Cooley team advising The House Fund.

Fund III will invest in Berkeley-affiliated startups, particularly in the artificial intelligence industry, with 70% of the funds going toward startups at the pre-seed stage. The House Fund also will lead, co-lead and participate in seed rounds and first-round Series A financings with founders who had previous exits worth $500 million to more than $1 billion.

Launched in 2016, The House Fund is the first fund focused on Berkeley startups and the only fund backed by both the endowment of the University of California system and UC Berkeley's campus endowment. Cooley has advised The House Fund since its inception.
