Bison Ventures Closes $135 Million Debut Fund

Palo Alto – November 7, 2023 – Cooley advised Bison Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage frontier technology companies, on the close of its $135 million debut fund. Lawyers John Dado and Emily Hren led the Cooley team advising Bison Ventures.

Proceeds from the fund will be used to invest in and support teams using innovative science and deep technology to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. The fund already has six investments across multiple fields – including climate and sustainability, precision agriculture, behavioral health, generative artificial intelligence and computational drug discovery – with more than 80% of the CEOs backed to date being part of traditionally underrepresented groups in venture-backed companies, including half who are women.
