Andrew Lustig is a partner in the Cooley Business department and head of the Mid Atlantic Business Technology Group. He joined the Firm in 2000 and is resident in the Reston office.
Mr. Lustig specializes in private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions and the general corporate representation of high growth technology companies in both the commercial and government marketplace. His practice focuses on a wide range of industry sectors including information technology, national security, cyber security, government contracts, software, telecommunications and life sciences. He also represents a number of leading venture capital and private equity firms.
Mr. Lustig's mergers and acquisitions experience includes the representation of buyers and sellers in over $1.75 billion worth of transactions, and he specializes in structuring and negotiating transactions such as stock and asset acquisitions and divestitures, mergers, auctions, recapitalizations, spin-offs and consolidations. Mr. Lustig's venture capital and private equity experience includes numerous seed, angel, venture, mezzanine and growth equity round financings.
Mr. Lustig is a founder and board member of MissionLink, an exclusive, CEO-only organization which fosters collaboration, access and opportunity for companies focused on defense and national security missions (www.missionlinkdc.org). MissionLink and Mr. Lustig are favorably recognized by senior government officials and have been featured in The Washington Post, The Washington Business Journal, The Washington Times, Modern DC Business, and Bisnow.
In 2011, the Washington Business Journal named Mr. Lustig one of the Washington region's brightest business leaders in its annual "Top 40 Under 40" award list.
Prior to joining Cooley, Mr. Lustig was an associate in the corporate/securities section of Locke Liddell & Sapp LLP in Dallas, Texas. His practice in Dallas focused on mergers and acquisitions and public securities work.
Mr. Lustig received a J.D. from the William and Mary School of Law in 1998 and a B.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Virginia in 1995. He is also fluent in Spanish and has a moderate command of Portuguese.
Mr. Lustig is a member of the Texas State Bar and the Virginia State Bar.
