About Jacob
Jacob practices general corporate and securities law. He represents both private and public companies in a range of industries, as well as investors. His practice includes entity formation and organization, governance matters, venture capital and other private financings, capital markets transactions, US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting and compliance, and mergers and acquisitions.
Jacob serves as a member of Cooley's diversity, equity and inclusion committee.
While attending Harvard Law School, Jacob spent time volunteering on a pro bono basis at Lambda Legal and GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD), where he conducted legal research and analysis in support of lawsuits aimed at vindicating the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (GLBTQ) individuals and their families.
During law school, Jacob also enjoyed studying and practicing negotiation in legal, business and other contexts. He took multiple negotiation-related courses and served as a teaching assistant for the Negotiation Workshop – an interactive, experience-based course with law, business and other graduate students from Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Tufts. Following graduation, he served as a facilitator and teaching assistant for the Harvard Negotiation Institute – a weeklong, intensive program on interests-based negotiation for leaders in law, government and business.
Before entering law school, Jacob worked as a senior consultant in the strategy and operations practice for the largest management consultancy in the world, where he helped clients solve some of their most challenging business problems. He also helped lead some of the firm’s internal diversity and inclusion initiatives, including certain initiatives focused on GLBTQ employees and their families.
