Venrock Closes 10th Fund at $650 Million
Palo Alto – January 8, 2024 – Cooley advised Venrock on the close of its 10th fund at $650 million. After raising approximately $450 million every three years throughout the past decade’s bull market, Venrock raised the $650 million for Venrock 10 to generate greater follow-on reserves in the current market environment. Partners Eric Doherty and John Clendenin led the Cooley team advising Venrock.
Originally established as the venture capital arm of the Rockefeller family in 1969, Venrock partners with entrepreneurs to build some of the world’s most disruptive and successful companies. With a primary focus on technology and healthcare, Venrock’s portfolio companies have included 10X Genomics, Apple Computer, AveXis, Check Point Software, Cloudflare, Dollar Shave Club, Gilead Sciences, Idec Pharma, Illumina, Intel, Millennium Pharmaceuticals and Nest.
Cooley has advised Venrock on a range of matters since 2003, including its $450 million ninth fund in March 2021 and $450 million eighth fund in February 2017.
