Washington, DC – October 2, 2024 – Jeremy Morrison has joined Cooley as an antitrust and competition partner based in the firm’s Washington, DC, office. His arrival strengthens Cooley’s antitrust merger control capabilities and adds to the firm’s rapidly expanding bench of former government agency attorneys. Morrison brings extensive experience from private practice and in government handling a broad range of complex antitrust issues across the US and Europe. He joins from Jones Day where he was a partner.
Morrison advises clients on antitrust compliance, investigations, and mergers and acquisitions review before federal and state agencies. He has represented clients before the US Department of Justice, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and international tribunals, including the European Commission and Canadian Competition Bureau. Morrison will also contribute to the firm’s CooleyREG offering, which provides clients with comprehensive and practical guidance on current and emerging regulations globally.

Previously, Morrison served as an attorney at the FTC, including as counsel to the director of the Bureau of Competition from 2013 to 2014. During his tenure at the FTC, Jeremy was the lead attorney on multiple merger investigations and prosecutions, including Pinnacle Entertainment’s purchase of Ameristar Casinos and Albertson’s acquisition of United Supermarkets. He also played an integral role in a number of high-profile FTC investigations and challenged transactions.
