About Ashley
Ashley focuses her practice on high-stakes litigation, with a focus on complex commercial disputes and class action defense. She helps companies navigate new emerging spaces and novel legal challenges in bet-the-company litigation.
Ashley has litigated in state and federal courts across the US, serving in national and local counsel roles. She has represented defendants in single-plaintiff actions, class actions and coordinated proceedings. She has extensive experience in pre-trial work-up, including drafting and arguing dispositive briefing and handling all phases of class and merits discovery – e.g., interviewing putative class members, spearheading written discovery and document productions, and taking and defending depositions. She has argued in state and federal court and has handled numerous types of alternative dispute resolution – including arbitrations, settlement conferences and mediations. She has experience handling appeals and works with clients to see cases through all phases of litigation. She has also successfully reached numerous multimillion-dollar settlements.
Ashley has been part of three trial teams in high-stakes cases, two of which resulted in full jury verdicts for her clients and one of which settled on terms favorable for her client mid-trial.
Additionally, Ashley has an active pro bono practice, with experience handling immigration (class action and asylum), eviction and domestic violence cases.
While at UC Hastings, Ashley served as a judicial extern to Judge Joyce Kennard of the Supreme Court of California and to Judge Charles Breyer of the US District Court for the Northern District of California. She competed in the Moot Court National Championship in Houston, Texas, where she won second place brief and multiple oral argument rounds. At Stanford University, she was captain (and later assistant coach) of the Western Equestrian Team.
