About Ben
Ben represents clients in a wide range of restructuring-related matters – including complex Chapter 11 proceedings and related litigation, financings, asset sales, and out-of-court restructurings.
Ben earned his JD from Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar and served on the Columbia Journal of Tax Law. During law school, Ben was a judicial intern in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He earned his BBA, with high distinction, from the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business, where he was a James B. Angell Scholar.
Ben has always been fascinated by the transformational power of innovative technologies. He has written machine learning classifiers to interpret the results of judicial decisions on constitutional law and worked for technology startups. Ben also worked for a major pharmaceutical research company prior to law school.
Ben’s representative matters include:
- Representing the largest creditor constituency of a major satellite telecommunications provider in Chapter 11 case in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia*
- Representing a debtor facing mass tort liability in its Chapter 11 case in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York*
- Representing a debtor facing asbestos claims in its Chapter 11 case in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey*
- Representing certain shareholders of a large, public utility facing wildfire liability in its Chapter 11 case in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California*
- Representing the winning bidder in a proposed sale of substantially all assets of a Chapter 11 debtor pursuant to Bankruptcy Code Section 363*
- Representing secured lenders in a complex, cross-border restructuring*
- Representing an international conglomerate in the complete dissolution of a US business unit*
