About Daniel

Daniel leverages his academic and industrial experience in organic chemistry, surface science and soft materials to assist clients with matters relating to their intellectual property.

Prior to joining Cooley, Daniel worked in industry as a product development chemist and formulation chemist. In these positions, he gained experience in the product development life cycle while performing research and development in surface science, liquid crystals, coatings and precision cleaning chemistry.

Daniel earned his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Wisconsin–Madison where, under the supervision of professor Randall Goldsmith, he synthesized fluorescently labeled molecules – including surface-supported catalysts and macromolecules – to enable nontraditional, single-molecule measurements of chemical reactions.

Daniel has published papers in esteemed journals, including Langmuir and the Journal of the American Chemical Society.
