Dr. Dou Yeon Youn focuses her practice on drafting and prosecution of domestic and international patent applications in the fields of life sciences and chemistry, with a particular emphasis on molecular pharmacology and drug development.

Dou (Doe) has extensive research experience in the areas of pharmacology, biotechnology, in vivo and in vitro molecular biology, synthetic chemistry, enzymology and biochemistry. Her doctoral research included small molecule drug development and study of enzymes that are associated with aging and metabolic disorders. Dou was a postdoctoral fellow at Columbia University under New York Nutritional Obesity Research Center and a research faculty at Einstein-Mount Sinai Diabetes Research Center where she studied the hepatic transcriptional gene regulation in diabetic mice.

Prior to joining Cooley, she was a patent agent at Whitham, Cook & Fields.
