About Ehijele
Ehijele is an experienced lawyer with deep knowledge of cutting-edge cybersecurity and data privacy issues, advising a diverse clientele that spans startups to Fortune 500 companies across sectors such as ecommerce, consumer products, media and entertainment, technology, life sciences, software, and finance. He offers strategic counsel on contractual and transactional matters, and he excels in guiding clients through the complexities of data privacy incidents, regulatory inquiries, and investigations. Ehijele also aids in the development, implementation, and training of incident response planning policies and procedures.
Ehijele’s broad skill set extends to helping clients navigate and adapt their compliance strategies to align with various domestic and international privacy and data security laws, including the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Leveraging nearly a decade of experience as a cybersecurity engineer, Ehijele integrates his thoughtful technological acumen into his legal practice, enhancing his ability to provide comprehensive and informed legal advice.
Prior to his legal career at Cooley, Ehijele served as a lead cybersecurity engineer at The MITRE Corporation, focusing on cybersecurity strategy, policy and privacy in the context of national security. He holds a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credential, and he is recognized as a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
In addition to his professional pursuits, Ehijele is dedicated to enhancing public awareness and understanding of cybersecurity and data privacy, merging his technical and legal know-how to foster greater interest in and knowledge of these critical fields.
