About Emma
Emma leads Cooley’s ESG and sustainability advisory practice in Europe. She has extensive experience advising on European Union and United Kingdom environmental, social and governance (ESG), sustainability, and products law matters.
Emma has a strong grasp of ESG regulation and works with the world’s top global companies to help clarify their obligations in the EU. She advises on the full range of ESG and sustainability issues, including reporting obligations under the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and the UK regimes, supply chain diligence under the EU CSRD, forced labour, deforestation, and product-related sustainability requirements such as ecodesign, chemical compliance, packaging, and recycling obligations. She also supports clients with their marketing and claims.
Emma has experience in making complaints to the European Commission on behalf of her clients and supporting them in litigation before the EU courts. Emma regularly manages multijurisdictional compliance projects for her clients.
Emma also is very active in horizon spotting, and she keeps abreast of new EU, UK and global initiatives in order to assist clients wishing to provide input on the legislative process and adapt their business in time when new rules are developed.
