About Eric
Eric Doherty’s practice focuses on all aspects of the formation, operation and ongoing maintenance of private investment funds, including venture capital, microcap, private equity, fund-of-funds, secondary market and other investment advisory businesses in the United States and internationally. He has represented many of the nation's leading accelerators, incubators and studios in forming hybrid corporate and investment fund structures.
Eric primarily represents sponsor organizations ranging from well-known multibillion-dollar firms to new emerging manager funds that may only raise a few million dollars. He has a passion for working with new managers in forming seed and early-stage venture capital, super angel and similar microcap funds. In addition to his fund formation practice, Eric represents many fund clients, institutional investors and angel investors in their direct and secondary market investment transactions. He has also represented a number of emerging growth companies as outside corporate counsel in financing transactions and on matters of general business and corporate law. In addition is also nationally ranked in Chambers USA for Venture Capital: Fund Formation.
Prior to attending law school, Eric was a marketing analyst for the United States Satellite Broadcasting Co. He was also an archivist for Hubbard Broadcasting.
