About Halima
Halima Nguyen is an associate in the fund formation practice group. She focuses her practice on the formation of private funds and the ongoing compliance and management activities associated with advising private funds and conducting investment advisory businesses. She has also represented clients in inquiries or investigations led by regulatory and law enforcement agencies including the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission and Department of Justice.
Prior to joining Cooley, Halima was an associate at Winston and Strawn. While attending the University of Virginia School of Law, Halima served as the managing editor for the Journal of Law and Politics. She actively participated in the energy and environmental matters of the Environmental and Regulatory Law Clinic, which included drafting amicus briefs filed in the US District Court in Washington, DC. Halima also worked as a fellow for the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project, where she provided legal assistance to survivors of domestic violence.
