About Hanna
Hanna represents clients across a range of civil and criminal matters, including false advertising, contract disputes, trade secret misappropriation, misuse of confidential information, unfair competition, patent infringement and business torts. Hanna has defended clients in trial against fraud claims, conducted mediations and guided clients through high-stakes government investigations involving the Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Justice and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. She has extensive experience dealing with whistleblower complaints and ensuing internal investigations, as well as allegations of defamatory advertising and tortious interference in the mobile communications sector. Hanna has an active pro bono practice, particularly in criminal cases, and has worked on habeas petitions for defendants facing capital punishment. She also assisted in challenging the Migrant Protection Protocols that returned migrants seeking asylum in the United States to their country of origin pending approval of their claims, often to dangerous circumstances.
Before joining Cooley, Hanna worked in criminal defense litigation, representing low-income and underserved clients. She received an award for best oral argument in law school.
