About Harrison
Harrison focuses his practice on data privacy class actions and litigation involving novel theories of liability and technology. He has achieved several certifications through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), including Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT). He was recognized as an IAPP Westin Scholar because of his passion for privacy and cybersecurity issues.
At the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, Harrison was president of the Legal Technology Association, a participant in the Hale Moot Court Honors Program and a recipient of the Edward and Eleanor Shattuck Award. He also participated in externships and an academic project related to consumer, employee and medical privacy issues.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Harrison is deeply passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion within the legal industry. He currently serves as a board member and co-chair for the mentorship and social committees of the Korean American Bar Association of Northern California, where he oversees programming for 100+ law students and attorneys. Previously, Harrison was recognized for his diversity leadership as a student representative of the Korean American Bar Association of Southern California and the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association. He also was a USC Asian Pacific Alumni Association Scholar.
Harrison’s relevant representative experience includes:
- Obtaining a voluntary dismissal of a novel consumer class action alleging that OpenAI violated various wiretapping, biometric and consumer protection statutes when it purportedly used personal information to train its top artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies
- Confidentially representing emerging and established technology companies in mass arbitrations brought by various plaintiffs’ firms concerning the use of tracking pixels and biometric technologies
- Representing a nonprofit organization in a class action concerning the use of Meta Pixel to intercept and disclose personal information in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act
- Successfully compelling to individual arbitration a putative class plaintiff seeking to represent 40 million users allegedly affected by cybersecurity incidents
Representing a sharing economy platform in a commercial litigation challenging its novel business model under a variety of government and municipal statutes
