About Heidi
Heidi focuses her practice on worldwide patent acquisition and strategic counseling for a wide range of clients, including startups, mid-size chemical and biotechnology companies and large pharmaceutical companies. Heidi’s practice spans the fields of chemistry and biochemistry, with particular emphasis on small molecule pharmaceuticals, nucleic acid therapeutics, drug conjugates, organic and organometallic chemistry and biochemistry.
Heidi began practicing in 1998 and she has extensive experience in patent procurement, portfolio management, freedom to operate and invalidity opinion work, and IP due diligence relating to various financing events such as acquisitions, investments and partnering. Heidi assists high-growth pharmaceutical and biotech companies in developing and implementing patent worldwide portfolio strategies to help them acquire and leverage the patent rights they need in order to compete globally.
Prior to joining Cooley, Heidi was a partner in Mintz Levin's Intellectual Property section. She is a member of several academic honor societies, including Phi Beta Kappa, Fiat Lux, Phi Delta Phi and the Phi Lambda Upsilon Chemistry Honor Society.
