About Dr. Heng
Heng is a patent agent in the patent counseling and prosecution practice group. His practice focuses on foreign and domestic patent prosecution, with an emphasis in the areas of organic chemistry, pharmaceuticals, polymer chemistry and materials science. Heng’s practice also includes freedom-to-operate and patentability analysis.
Before joining Cooley, Heng was a patent agent at a Boston-based firm. Earlier in his career, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he developed a novel adhesive hydrogel for use in a macroscopic self-assembly system for gastrointestinal drug delivery. Heng received his PhD in 2016 from Boston University, where he developed new catalytic systems for selective alternating copolymerization of epoxide and carbon dioxide.
