About James
James is a litigation and investigations lawyer focused on contentious antitrust and competition law. He has 15 years of experience advising on competition litigation as well as competition and regulatory investigations. James has advised on many of the highest-profile cartel follow-on damages actions before the English courts, including class actions, and has handled claims alleging abuse of dominance before the UK High Court of Justice and the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
Additionally, James defends clients against competition infringement investigations brought by UK authorities and provides strategic competition law compliance advice across all sectors of the economy, including technology, life sciences and financial services. He also has experience with complex internal investigations and advising clients on dealing with regulators.
James gained public sector experience during a secondment to the UK competition regulator, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), advising on competition enforcement cases.
James was described in The Legal 500 as ‘highly competent’.
