About Jason
Dr. Jason Valentine draws on his pharmaceutical industry experience in synthetic organic chemistry, polymorphism, bioprocesses, drug discovery, analytical chemistry and formulation science to advise clients in the life science industries with a particular emphasis on pharmaceutical research and development.
Jason's practice includes planning and prosecuting worldwide patent portfolios, drafting freedom-to-operate and invalidity opinions, post-grant proceedings including inter partes review, patentability and infringement analyses and strategic IP counseling.
Prior to joining Cooley, Jason was a patent agent at Kenyon & Kenyon. For five years, he was a senior research scientist at a pharmaceutical firm where he oversaw the process development for an anti-hepatitis C drug undergoing early-phase clinical trials.
Jason conducted post-doctoral research at Harvard University in the area of the synthesis of new tetracycline antibiotics.
