About Jessica

Jessica serves as pro bono counsel for Cooley, focusing on immigration matters – including asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) cases. Jessica also works with the firm’s pro bono team to develop and manage Cooley’s pro bono practice.

Before rejoining Cooley, Jessica served as a supervising attorney at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), the preeminent US-based nongovernmental organization devoted to the protection of unaccompanied and separated children. At KIND, Jessica recruited, trained and mentored pro bono attorneys to represent unaccompanied children in their removal proceedings, focusing primarily on SIJS and asylum cases. Before that, she was an associate in Cooley’s litigation department and employment & labor group, where her practice focused on employment litigation and counseling. As a Cooley associate, Jessica was an active member of the Boston office’s pro bono committee and maintained a robust pro bono caseload, representing KIND clients, low-income clients in child custody, child support, and tax matters, and a client appealing his Convention Against Torture claim before the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Before joining Cooley for the first time, Jessica was an associate in the employment and labor practice group at the Palo Alto office of Morrison & Foerster.
