About Jon
Jonathan Graves is a first-chair trial lawyer with over 30 years of experience litigating patent infringement, trade secret, and other intellectual property cases involving a wide range of technologies, including computer hardware, software, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and procedures, and consumer products. Jon is a highly effective courtroom advocate with an extensive track record of achieving successful outcomes for clients in trials, preliminary injunction motions, Markman patent claim construction hearings, dispositive motions, and appeals, including in the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Jon has litigated intellectual property cases in courts throughout the country, including in the US District Courts for the Eastern District of Virginia, the District of Delaware, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Southern District of New York, and the Eastern District of Texas. He has also represented clients in Section 337 patent infringement investigations at the US International Trade Commission.
Jon's practice also encompasses IP licensing and counseling. He frequently advises clients on IP issues, including avoidance of third-party rights, assessment of the scope and value of clients' patent protection, and strategies for generation of revenue through licensing and litigation.
