About Jonathan

Jonathan is an experienced litigator who represents clients in high-exposure civil and criminal matters. He excels in understanding and simplifying complex issues and technologies to help guide his clients to successful resolutions that make sense from both a business and legal perspective. Jonathan often handles matters in areas that involve unprecedented issues, and he consistently delivers creative arguments and solutions. Jonathan has successfully resolved investor class actions, merger litigation, bankruptcy disputes, breach of fiduciary duty matters, civil and criminal investigations, and other complex business disputes for prominent public companies and their officers and directors. He has represented clients in a range of industries, including cryptocurrency, financial services, semiconductors, energy, computer software, space infrastructure and footwear. Jonathan is adept at guiding clients at all stages of litigation, including in trial proceedings.

While in law school, Jonathan served as a judicial extern to Chief Judge Alex Kozinski of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Jonathan graduated Order of the Coif from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and he obtained a Certificate in Business Economics and Public Policy from The Wharton School. Jonathan received his undergraduate business degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Southern California, where he was one of only 40 students admitted into a joint business-cinema/television program. At USC, Jonathan worked for four years with the Trojans football team in recruiting and football operations, under future Super Bowl-winning coach Pete Carroll.

Jonathan is also an avid golfer, and he founded USC’s competitive golf men’s club team. Jonathan minored in Spanish at USC and is fluent in the language. Jonathan currently serves as the vice president of the Los Angeles Regional Board for the American Jewish Committee, and he regularly meets with members of the US Congress and foreign diplomats on behalf of the organization.

  • A technology company and its executives in connection with a formal SEC investigation into sales practices and revenue recognition, concluding with no SEC action
  • A semiconductor equipment manufacturer and its executives in a California state court class action under the Securities Act of 1933 and a related derivative lawsuit
  • A Delaware public company on its reincorporation in Nevada in an unprecedented Delaware litigation
  • A footwear company and its executives in a securities fraud class action arising from statements about the company’s expenses, primarily to grow its China business
