About Juan Pablo
Juan Pablo’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation. He has litigated patent, trade secret and breach of contract cases at every stage, including multiple trials in arbitration and federal court. Juan Pablo practices across a range of disciplines, including virtual and augmented reality, image and video recognition, cellular technologies, and web/mobile-based collaborations and communications, as well as biotech and medical devices. He harnesses his strong analytical and economics background to comprehend and communicate his clients’ technologies and finances in a manner that resonates with judges and juries.
Juan Pablo also has extensive experience within Cooley’s pro bono practice, representing multiple asylum applicants in immigration court as well as individuals seeking limited conservatorships to care for loved ones in state court.
Juan Pablo joined Cooley after graduating from Stanford Law School, where he was an articles and member editor for the Stanford Law Review and the lead online editor of the Stanford Law & Policy Review. In addition, he was a board member of the Stanford Intellectual Property Association and a member of the Juelsgaard Intellectual Property and Innovation Clinic. While at Stanford, Juan Pablo also pursued a Master of Arts in public policy, focusing on law and economics in the intellectual property space. For his master’s thesis, he conducted an economic analysis of the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act and its effects on pharmaceutical pricing. Prior to attending law school, Juan Pablo received his Bachelor of Arts in ethics, politics and economics, an interdisciplinary major at Yale that interweaves these subjects with other fields of study.
