
About Kaitland
Kaitland’s practice encompasses high-stakes commercial disputes, class actions, internal investigations and investigations by the US Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Her corporate clients range from early-stage startups to publicly traded companies representing numerous industries, including life sciences, consumer goods, financial services and software as a service. Kaitland also maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing primarily on immigration, LGBTQ+ and reproductive justice matters.
Kaitland’s representative matters include:
- Defending a mortgage lender in a class action alleging violations of the New Jersey mortgage lending statute
- Representing a biopharmaceutical company in two lawsuits brought against a former executive asserting claims for breach of contract and violations of federal securities laws
- Defending a former executive of a pharmaceutical company in an SEC investigation, securities class action and related opt-out cases
- Representing a multinational company in an internal investigation concerning potential public misstatements and incidents of insider trading by employees at a subsidiary entity
- Defending a consumer electronics company in a class action alleging violations of the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act and the US Computer Fraud and Abuse Act
- Representing an international nonprofit in an internal investigation concerning allegations of fraud, kickbacks and foreign bribery
- Representing a luxury goods company in a trade secrets action against a competitor
- Representing an ecommerce company in an expedited internal investigation concerning potential breaches of fiduciary duties by members of management and the board
- Representing a software as a service company in an internal investigation concerning potential Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations
- Defending a video-conferencing service provider in FTC, state attorneys general and international regulatory investigations concerning the company’s practices under Section 5 of the FTC Act
- Defending a group of UK-based individual and institutional investors in a US bankruptcy court adversary proceeding
- Authoring an amicus brief addressing the harms inflicted on Asian American and Pacific Islander women by Tennessee abortion bans
- Obtaining a grant of asylum for a lesbian woman who fled Russia after multiple homophobic attacks
