About Katie
Katie is a transactional commercial real estate attorney based in Cooley’s Reston office. Katie concentrates her practice on real estate matters, including commercial acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing commercial properties.
Although Katie is based in Virginia, her practice is national and includes the representation of developers of all types (such as commercial, residential and data center developers), as well as public companies and startups all over the US. As to leasing transactions, Katie represents both landlords and tenants in connection with leases for all product types and all sizes. Katie counsels clients in all facets of acquisition and disposition of real property, and she guides clients through real estate diligence, contract negotiation, purchase and sale.
Prior to joining Cooley, Katie was an associate for several years at another large law firm, where she represented and advised clients on various real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, joint ventures, acquisitions for conservation purposes, and complex corporate acquisitions and restructuring transactions.
Katie graduated summa cum laude from George Mason University, Antonin Scalia Law School, where she received the Daniel D. Polsby Award for Excellence in Leadership. As a law student, Katie was a writing fellow, as well as a research editor for the George Mason Law Review. She also served as a legal intern for Judge Jan L. Brodie at the Fairfax County Circuit Court.
